ATM & CARD CONVERSION ANNOUNCEMENT

Chemical Bank is currently taking steps to improve the level and quality of service we provide our customers with our cards and at all of our ATMs. In March, we began a planned conversion of our ATM and card systems to a new vendor. This conversion is part of our plan to provide a consistently improved, stable and secure ATM and Debit card experience.

During this conversion, customers will only be able to access the primary checking and savings accounts tied to their ATM and Debit cards. Additionally, customers will not be able to change their PIN at the ATM.

Full functionality will be restored after the ATM conversion has been completed. The targeted completion date for this conversion is the week of April 7, 2008, and after that date, we will begin introducing new capabilities, including:

• Enhanced monitoring and protection against fraudulent ATM and Debit card transactions
• Added online shopping security provided via the MasterCard SecureCodeŽ platform to better protect against fraudulent internet purchases by requiring added authentication when making purchases with your Debit card (requires cardholder activation)

• Personalized "Fast Cash" transactions at our ATMs will allow you to customize your transaction experience, so that you need only enter your PIN to receive money in the quantity you desire and with or without a receipt, in the same way every time

Please note that no action will be required on your part, nor will you need a new card as a result of this process.
