INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT PROCESS
Chemical Bank’s investment objective is to produce long-term investment results which carry a high degree of predictability and are consistent with the defined objectives of our customers. Our investment management style therefore reflects a long-term commitment to the ownership of high quality investments.
Our investment management process is built around this investment objective. Chemical Bank employs a top-down investment discipline which is known as the “Pyramid of Investing”. This “Pyramid of Investing” represents a disciplined and organized approach to managing the client’s investments.
The investment management process consists of five steps each interrelated with the other. The five steps in the process are:
- Create an investment policy statement.
- Establish an economic overview.
- Determine an appropriate asset allocation.
- Identify investment alternatives.
- Provide on-going evaluation.

INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY
Chemical Bank adheres to an open architecture investment philosophy. In essence, Chemical Bank has access to various asset classes including alternative investments and separate account management. We do not offer proprietary investments thus our investment advice is unbiased and clearly reflects the best interests of our clients. A recommended, individual equity list, developed by Chemical Bank’s investment team, is compiled on a weekly basis for those clients requesting individually managed portfolios. If mutual funds are the investment of choice, Chemical Bank has established a working relationship with over 280 fund families or 9,000+ mutual funds. Chemical Bank, through its Manager of Manager program, can also offer its clients a wide variety of investment managers across the Country.
Our goal is to design and maintain portfolios that provide the income, growth potential and risk tolerances that match our clients' comfort level and exceeds their financial expectations.
